Ghana
can be reached by Ghana Airways and other leading Airlines from
all over the world. They include the British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa,
South Africa Airways,Kenya Airways, Ethiopia Airlines, Air
Togo, Emirates, Egypt Air, Middle East Airlines etc.
The country can be reached from neighbouring countries by road through leading border towns like Aflao from Togo, Paga and Hamile from Burkina Faso; Elubo and Sampa from Ivory Coast.
The modern ports of Tema and Takoradi also receive occasional cruise ships.
TRAVEL
DOCUMENTS AND VISAS
All
visitors to Ghana must possess a valid passport and visa. Nationals
of the Economic Community of West African states namely Benin, Burkina
Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau,
Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone
and Togo are exempted from possessing visas.
Visas are granted at nominal fees. Group visas for tourists may be issued at points of entry to Ghana if prior arrangements are concluded between Adowa Travel & Tours Limited, Ghana Tourist Board (GTB) and the Ghana Immigration Service.
Visas are normally issued for one-month duration but may be extended by applying to the Ghana Immigration Service before expiration. One year multiple visas may be granted to tourists and business travellers on application.
Ghana's missions and embassies abroad are authorized to issue visas and entry permits. In places where there is no Ghanaian mission, visitors may apply through Adowa Travel and Tours Ltd.
