ABURI BOTANICAL GARDEN TOUR
Aburi
Botanical Gardens was started by the British first as a Sanatorium
or health resort for recuperating colonial officers, on account
of its pleasant mountain weather. It later became an agricultural
station with plants from around the tropical world. It opened to
the public in 1890. Represented are 375 species of plants including
some endangered species, all arranged on beautifully manicured lawns
spread over 30 acres.

Ideal for tourists of all ages, particularly, those interested in tropical flora in a park-like environment.

Aburi Botanical Garden
You will see also
plants from Australia and the herbarium with tropical medicinal plants.
Enjoy a spectacular view of the garden lawns, rare cycads, cacti,
and epiphytes. There is also a commemorative lawn with trees planted
by world-renowned dignitaries including Queen Elizabeth II, the
Prince of Wales, Presidents and many others.
STARTING POINT
Reception point of the Botanical Garden where guests are given a brief history of the garden followed by a tour through the various lawns.
ROUTE
Walk through the Royal Palm avenue, the flowerly lovers' lane, and cocoa plot, then down to the nurseries and a herbarium, which is full of several labeled tropical medicinal plants.

KAKUM TOUR
Located
in the Kakum National Park is the first forest Canopy Walkway in
Africa opened in 1995, and one of only four in the world. Kakum
National Park covers about 372km of moist rainforest in the Central
Region of Ghana. This park is habitat to 40 species of larger mammals,
e.g. forest elephant, red river hog, and seven primates. About 300
species of birds, prominent among which are five hornbill species.
The Frazer Eagle Owl, African Grey and Senegal parrots can be seen
in this park in addition to an amazing profusion of butterflies.

MOLE PARK TOUR
Created
in the 1950s by the British Colonial Government, Mole has a wide
range of mammalian species and numerous birds including seasonal
migrants from Europe. It covers 4,840 sq km of undulating terrain
in the northern region of Ghana.
TARGET: Ideal for visitors of all ages, especially wildlife enthusiasts.

Baboons in the Mole Park
INFORMATION
Easily the best place to observe large mammals in West Africa: such
as elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, antelopes, monkeys and other fauna
like, crocodiles and birds in their natural habitat.
STARTING POINT
The Motel grounds where all guests are welcomed to the Park.
ROUTE
Guests are led deeper into the Park by wildlife ranger-guides along 18km viewing road either on foot or in 4x4 vehicles. The less adventurous may relax by the swimming pool and watch the elephants and other animals from a distance.
